Digital-ID centred online platform exits the ICO Sandbox with lessons for other tech companies
CDD Services entered the ICO Sandbox in November 2020 to explore SafeGuarden, a digital-ID centred online platform, which enables ex-service personnel to prove their identity. The platform is also intended to give permission to share their personal data with Service Providers who will then provide support to them and their families in relation to housing, employment and training, based on permissions set by the individual.
In the Sandbox, the organisation was advised, for example, of the roles of controller and processor, and data mapping. Since exiting the Sandbox at the end of March 2022, CDD Services has redrafted its DPIA and appointed a DPO to take into account the ICO’s recommendations.
