Government proposes regulating online harms

The government, providing a summary of the feedback from last summer’s consultation on the Online Harms white Paper, suggests a regulatory regime that would apply to platforms that allow users to share or discover user-generated content, or interact with each other online. The government estimates that fewer than five per cent of UK businesses will be in scope.
