Governance and data protection – a charity’s perspective
Claire Robson of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity tells how her organisation has embraced data privacy and what it took to get there.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) has been supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for many years, and as a discrete charity since 1998. Although GOSH is based in London, it supports and provides care to seriously ill children from across the UK. GOSH Charity, which is a fundraising charity, supports GOSH and its patients and families by funding four key areas, namely rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital to create state-of-the-art facilities; support services for families and children; pioneering medical research; and cutting-edge equipment. As a charity, it’s one of the UK’s leading children’s charities and as an organisation, it employs some of the most passionate staff I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with.
