OECD reviews government access, promotes interoperability

In our globalised, digitally connected world, the need for international frameworks and policy to drive interoperability and convergence for data protection has never been stronger. Joined up global policy can support fundamental rights, and drive trust and confidence in the digital economy.

Many international institutions play an important role in driving international frameworks and policy, operating in different regional and international networks – including the European Union, Council of Europe, APEC, the African Union and the Ibero-American Network. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also has a central and unique role to play in supporting convergence and interoperability.
