Parliament investigates human rights in AI

On 25 July 2025, the Joint Committee on Human Rights launched an inquiry into the impact of AI on human rights in the UK.

The Joint Committee will examine the threats and opportunities AI offers for human rights in the UK. It will also consider whether existing legal and regulatory frameworks are sufficient to protect human rights and keep pace with AI development. Issues include privacy and data usage, discrimination and bias, and the question of effective remedies for violations of human rights.
