PL&B and Norton Rose Fulbright send Memo to the Minister on Data Law Reform
The points raised at the Privacy Laws & Business and Norton Rose Fulbright Roundtable in July are summarised here by Marcus Evans, Matt Dixon-Ward and Stewart Dresner.
On 14 July, PL&B’s Roundtable, Memo to the Minister, in cooperation with law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, gathered together 50 DPOs and privacy lawyers to quiz the staff responsible for drafting the legislative proposal at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS). The speakers were Elisabeth Stafford, Robin Edwards, Emily James and Gaby Anderson from the DCMS.
This event took place just before the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill was published, and the resulting Memo was sent to DCMS Minister Matt Warman MP shortly afterwards. This Memo highlights areas of concern to participants.
