Thailand begins enforcement of its Data Protection Act

Enforcement of Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) started 1 June, Bangkok Post reports. The PDPA was signed in 2019, but enforcement was postponed by a Royal Decree until 2022 due to ­pressures created by the Covid-19 pandemic. The PDPA has many ­similar aspects to the EU GDPR, including data subject rights.
