California’s CCPA now enforceable and stronger California law ahead

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) enforcement began 1 July. Despite the effects of Covid-19, the California Attorney General has been determined to commence enforcement of the Act which was signed into law on 28 June 2018, and took effect on 1 January 2020. The Attorney General’s regulations, to interpret and implement some of the provisions of the CCPA, have still not been finalised.
