UN appoints Special Rapporteur on Privacy
The United Nations appointed on 1 July Joseph Cannataci as a Special Rapporteur on the Right of Privacy for the next three years. The rapporteur’s mandate includes to:
- identify possible obstacles to the protection of the right of privacy,
- identify, exchange and promote principles and best practices at the national, regional and international levels, and
- submit proposals and recommendations to the Human Rights Council of the UN.
