Slovenia’s new GDPR-implementing law now in force

Slovenia’s new Data Protection Act implementing the EU GDPR entered into force on 26 January 2023. The law was adopted, after several years of delay, on 15 December 2022.

Slovenia was the last EU country to implement the GDPR’s provisions. The GDPR was adopted in 2016, and became enforceable on 25 May 2018. PL&B International Report will publish an analysis of Slovenia’s law in its next issue.
