Japan's legislature discusses new privacy law and EU adequacy

Japan's Diet (Parliament) is expected to have intensive discussions in May about privacy law reform, including the proposal for an independent data protection authority.

In a plenary session in the House of Representatives on 23 April, the Ministers and the members of the Diet also debated the use of anonymous data, EU adequacy, APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules and drones.
