ICO to conduct work on privacy seal schemes

The ICO is asking organisations that would potentially be interested in
running an accredited privacy seal scheme to work with it on this
project. The ICO aims to accredit a third party to operate a privacy
seal or trust mark scheme during 2013/14.

"We want to develop a pioneering partnership with an organisation to
launch a seal scheme, one that has the protection of individuals'
information rights at its centre, and that covers the personal data
issues that are relevant to most individuals most of the time," the ICO
says.

The deadline for registering interest is 30 June.
