EU-US Privacy Shield now agreed



The EU-US Privacy Shield, the data transfer agreement between the EU and the US was agreed last Friday 8 July by the EU Member States’ Article 31 Committee representing the 28 Member States. This package, replacing the Safe Harbor agreement, will be presented today by Commissioner Vêra Jourova to the European Parliament’s LIBE Committee, which will give its non-binding opinion. Formal adoption by the EU College of Commissioners is expected to take place on Wednesday.

The LIBE Committee session will take place today at 15-18.30 CET.
