GDPR: One year old today (almost)!

15 May 2019

Overview

Remember 25 May 2018? Before that glorious summer, when your inbox was suddenly flooded to bursting with re-consent emails and the letters “G.D.P.R.” seemed to be everywhere?

It’s been a year (almost), and we think it is worth taking some time to reflect on 12 months living with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Please join the Bristows data protection team (in association with Privacy Laws and Business) on Wednesday 15 May, as we discuss the things we’ve learnt in the past year – as well as those tricky questions which remain unanswered.

We’ve learned that data breaches happen (a lot!); we’ve learned that people know their rights – and aren’t afraid to exercise them; and we’ve seen the supervisory authorities flex their newfound muscles.

But there’s still plenty we don’t know – will we get an ePrivacy Regulation? How does the Article 27 Representative work? And of course, what will be the impact of Brexit…?

And like any good Birthday Party, there’ll be cake!
