Germany issues guidance on use of social networks
The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) advises public sector organisations on how social networks can be used in accordance with the law. This action has been taken whilst the regulator waits for the results of its appeal against a judgment of the Administrative Court of Cologne of 17 July 2025 in the case of Facebook-Fanpages.
