Mrs Drudeisha Madhub was appointed Data Protection Commissioner of the Data Protection Office of Mauritius since August 2007. Prior to her appointment, she was Senior State Counsel at the Attorney General's Office for six and a half years.
She is a respected member of various international networks such as: Association Francophone des Autorités de Protection des Données Personelles’ (AFAPDP), Réseau Africain des Autorités de Protection des Données Personelles (RAAPDP), Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN), Common Thread Network (CTN), the Council of Europe, and United Nations Global Pulse
She was appointed as data protection and human rights expert by Interpol and a member of the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files from 2011 to 2018 with the specific function of judging data protection and human rights issues in Interpol’s cases.
Mrs Madhub was appointed UN Emeritus expert, joining the UN Global Pulse Data Advisory Group in 2014 to provide expert advice on data protection.
Sizwe Lindelo Snail ka Mtuze holds a Baccalareus Legum (LLB) from the University of Pretoria with Tax Law and Cyber-Law electives also an (LLM) from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He is currently registered with the University of Fort Hare for an (LLD). Prof Snail Ka Mtuze has recently been appointed as Adjunct Professor in the Mercantile Law Department of Nelson Mandela University (NMU) Law Faculty.
Sizwe Snail ka Mtuze is also a member of South African Information Regulator (SAIR) and member of Films and Publication Appeal Board (FPAB) since 2016 and 2017 respectively.
He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Fort hare (UFH) since 2015 and Lecturer in Cyberlaw / IT Law (LLB and LLM levels).
He is also co-editor and author of the 3rd Edition of Cyberlaw @ SA 3. He is also currently involved in the writing of 4th Edition Cyberlaw @ SA 4 to be released in 2021.
Prof Snail ka Mtuze is a Member of the CyberBRICS Advisory Board and an Examiner for the Legal Practice Council (LPC) for the Attorneys Admission Examiner (2020 – to date).
Lebogang Stroom-Nzama completed her LLB degree at the University of Pretoria. She began her career as a Candidate Attorney at Hack, Stupel and Ross Attorneys where she completed her articles of clerkship. She was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court. She further obtained her LLM Degree with specialisation in Commercial law at University of South Africa, and a Certificate in Compliance Management with the University of Johannesburg.
Her previous work experience include areas of legal, compliance and risk at various financial services institutions such as Santam Insurance, First National Bank, SASRIA, and Liberty Life. In 2012 she was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Johannesburg Bar. She is currently the full–time member of the newly formed Information Regulator.
