Cecilia Álvarez Rigaudias is the EMEA Privacy Policy Director at Meta since March 2019. From 2015 to 2019, she served as European Privacy Officer Lead of Pfizer, Vice-Chair of the EFPIA Data Protection Group and Chairwoman of IPPC-Europe. For an interim period, she was also the Legal Lead of the Spanish Pfizer subsidiaries. She formerly worked 18 years in a reputed Spanish law firm, leading the data protection, IT and ecommerce areas of practice as well as the LATAM Data Protection Working Group.
Cecilia was the Chairwoman of APEP (Spanish Privacy Professional Association) until June and currently in charge of its international affairs. She is also the Spanish member of CEDPO (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations) and member of the Leadership Council of The Sedona Conference (W-6).
Cecilia is a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation in the section of the Law on Technologies of the Information and the Knowledge. She formed part of the Volunteer Group of Privacy Experts of the OECD (Working Party on Information Security and Privacy; WPISP) in charge of the 2013 review of the OECD guidelines governing the protection of privacy and transborder data flows of personal data.
Cecilia has written numerous publications on data protection and regularly lectures on data protection, IT and e-commerce at different Master’s programmes and seminars.
Etienne Drouard is one of the most prominent lawyers in France focusing on information technology, data-driven business models, privacy and cybersecurity matters. His work includes regulatory investigations and advisory, commercial transactions, as well as national and international disputes and digital crisis management.
Etienne advises private and public entities operating in any kind of sectors: IT and telecom infrastructures, online services, digital media, e-commerce, mobility and transport services, autonomous and connected vehicles, financial, insurance and banking services, crypto-assets, blockchain, cryptography, digital advertising and marketing, consumer protection and healthcare issues.
Etienne started his career at CNIL (the French Data Protection Authority) in 1996 and joined private practice in 1999. He has notably contributed to drafting and lobbying with the "ePrivacy" Directives and draft Regulations, including the "GDPR", between 2010 and 2016, as well as the Digital Markets Act, the Digital Services Act, DORA and the draft Artificial Intelligence Act.
David Pfau is Head of Data & Privacy at conreri digital development GmbH in Hamburg. After completing a commercial apprenticeship at a media company, he studied business psychology. David is a recognised data protection expert in the media and digital industry and has many years of experience in consulting. He joined conreri in 2021 from a data protection consultancy in Frankfurt. He is responsible for the Data & Privacy business area and acts as an interface and translator between the areas of politics, business and law for his clients.
David is a lecturer at the German Business Faculty at the Kaplan Business & Accountancy School in Hong Kong, with a focus on digitalisation and data protection. He is also the author of the legal handbook "Datenschutz im Internet" (ed. Schwartmann, Benedikt, Reif), which is expected to be published by VERLAG C.H.BECK in Q2 2024.
Dr Sachiko Scheuing is the European Privacy Officer of Acxiom, an IPG-Interpublic Group company, and a global leader in marketing services. She is currently serving her fourth term as the Co-Chairwoman of the trade association Federation of European Data and Marketing (FEDMA), based in Brussels.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the field of marketing intelligence, and as a former chief analyst, Sachiko combines theoretical and practical experience of the marketing and advertisement industries to manage Acxiom’s European government affairs and compliance. She frequently shares her thoughts with clients and colleagues on all matters data protection and AI. She also contributes articles to trade magazines and academic journals.
Besides FEDMA, Sachiko is active in several European and global privacy and marketing associations as well as think-tanks. She was one of the founding members of the DPO association, CEDPO. Sachiko is passionate about empowering women and girls. She is serving as the global co-chair of Acxiom’s gender equity programme, WomenLEAD. In 2020, Sachiko received the DataIQ Professor Derek Holder Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to and leadership in the data industry.
Sachiko is also author of the forthcoming book How to Use Customer Data, a guide for marketers, particularly those of SMEs, to data protection.
