FOI Training
Privacy Laws & Business have developed a series of data protection and freedom of information training workshops tailored to the requirements of those dealing most with personal data. If your job involves the collection and use of personal data then it is vital that you understand the implications of both these acts and how they have an impact on your individual responsibilities, as well as throughout your organisation.
By the end of each specialist workshop, you will feel confident about handling personal data for your organisation, including sensitive data. You will know what actions your organisation needs to take to fulfill the requirements of the acts. You will be able to demonstrate good business practice in handling personal data, both internally and in relation to individuals’ rights of access to information about themselves. Numbers are limited to 20 people per workshop, this is to enable the group to divide into smaller groups for practical and scenario sessions, and also to give an opportunity to raise individual questions.
Inhouse training is also available, please email glenn.daif-burns@privacylaws.com for further information.
"The workshop more than fulfilled its objectives. I gained a lot of useful procedural advice and tips"
Helen Ryan, Criminal Records Bureau

Public Workshops or in-house training?
The same course is available either as a public workshop or as in-house training - the choice is yours. Both options will be limited to 20 people to enable the group to divide into smaller groups for practical and scenario sessions, and also to give an opportunity to raise individual questions.
The advantage of attending a public workshop with staff from other organisations is that you will learn from each other's experience, both problems and solutions.
The advantage of an in-house session is that you can work either with generic scenarios or, if you wish, focus entirely on your own issues in private.
